Fair Usage Policy

1.   Introduction

This Fair Usage Policy (FUP) sets forth the guidelines for the fair and reasonable use of Mitaa’s internet services (“the Services”) provided to users in peri-urban and rural communities where Mitaa operates under its own brand or the HEWA product. By using the Services, you agree to comply with this FUP. Violations of this FUP may result in the temporary throttling, suspension, or termination of your access to the Services.

2.   Purpose

The purpose of this FUP is to ensure that all users of the Services have equal access to a reliable and high-quality internet experience. It is designed to prevent abuse and misuse of network resources, thereby promoting fair usage and optimal service delivery to all users.

3.   Bandwidth Usage

  • Mitaa provides a limited amount of bandwidth to each user to ensure fair allocation and equal distribution of network resources. Excessive or sustained use of bandwidth by individual users may negatively impact the overall network performance and the internet experience of other users.
  • Users should be mindful of their bandwidth consumption and avoid engaging in activities that disproportionately consume network resources, such as continuous high-volume downloading, streaming, or hosting of large files or services.

4.   Traffic Prioritization

Mitaa may employ traffic management techniques to prioritize certain types of traffic or ensure the optimal functioning of the network. These techniques may include traffic shaping, prioritization, or bandwidth allocation mechanisms to maintain a fair and efficient use of network resources.

5.   Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  1. Intentional or excessive consumption of bandwidth that significantly impacts the internet experience of other users.
  2. Unauthorized attempts to bypass or circumvent any traffic management mechanisms implemented by Mitaa.
  3. Any activities that violate Mitaa’s Acceptable Use Policy or applicable laws and regulations.

6.   Usage Monitoring

Mitaa may monitor the usage patterns, bandwidth consumption, and network performance to identify any potential violations of this FUP. Such monitoring aims to ensure fair usage and maintain optimal service levels for all users.

7.   Consequences of Violations

If a violation of this FUP is detected, Mitaa may take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  1. Notifying the user and providing a warning.
  2. Temporarily throttling or limiting the user’s bandwidth to ensure fair allocation of network resources.
  3. Suspending or terminating the user’s access to the Services in case of severe or repeated violations.

8.   Changes to the Fair Usage Policy

  • Mitaa reserves the right to update or modify this FUP from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated FUP on our website or through other appropriate communication channels.
  • We encourage you to review this FUP periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Services after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to this Fair Usage Policy. By using Mitaa’s Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in this FUP.
