Acceptable Usage Policy

 

1.   Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets forth the guidelines for the acceptable use of Mitaa’s internet services (“the Services”). By using the Services provided by Mitaa, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations of this AUP may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the Services.

 

2.   Lawful Use and Privacy

  • Users of the Services must use the internet in a lawful manner and comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other data protection laws.
  • Users must respect the constitutional right of internet users to personal privacy and the privacy of communications as outlined in Mitaa’s Privacy Policy. Users must not engage in any activity that compromises the privacy and confidentiality of others’ personal information or electronic communications.

 

3.   Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  2. Distribution or transmission of any material that is unlawful, harmful, obscene, pornographic, indecent, or otherwise objectionable, as outlined in Mitaa’s Privacy Policy.
  3. Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam), phishing emails, or other forms of unsolicited messages.
  4. Accessing, downloading, or distributing illegal or unauthorized software, copyrighted materials, or confidential information without proper authorization.
  5. Engaging in any activity that disrupts or compromises the security, integrity, or performance of Mitaa’s network, systems, or other users’ access to the Services.
  6. Unauthorized access to computer systems or networks, including attempts to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of a system or network without proper authorization.

 

4.   Data Protection and Confidentiality

Users must respect the confidentiality of customer personal information and electronic communications, as outlined in Mitaa’s Privacy Policy. Users must only gather or retain customer information as permitted by law and must not sell or distribute such information to any other party without the written consent of the customer, except where required to do so by law.

 

5.   Reporting Violations

Users are encouraged to report any violations of this AUP to Mitaa. Reports can be submitted using the contact details provided in the Privacy Policy.

6.   Consequences of Violations

Mitaa reserves the right to investigate any suspected violations of this AUP. If a violation is confirmed, Mitaa may take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  1. Issuing a warning to the user.
  2. Temporarily suspending or terminating the user’s access to the Services.
  3. Taking legal action as necessary.

 

7.   Changes to the Acceptable Use Policy

Mitaa may update this AUP from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated AUP on our website or through other appropriate communication channels.

We encourage you to review this AUP periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Services after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
